The Great Circus Parade

Christmas presents for Betsy included a Milwaukee weekend with the Circus Parade.  We got a hotel on the parade route and set two chairs up on a corner (note the circles on two pictures).  We got into town Saturday night and ate.  Sam did not want to go to sleep, but once he did he slept great.  On Sunday all four of us went to the pool.  Betsy raced me.  Sam jumped from Katie on the edge to me in the pool over and over yelling "jump" each time.  We tried some swimming.  He said "kick, kick, kick" while he kicked, but never really got his arms into it.

The hotel location on the corner was great as Sam's nap time coincided with the parade.  Kate and Betsy watched the first half from the street while Sam slept and I watched from the "sniper's nest" up above.  Then Kate and I switched for the second half.  The weather was beautiful, the wild animals were well behaved, and everyone had a great time.

Mr. Sam deserved a fun weekend as this last week he was healing.  He had a couple spots that turned out to be impetigo (skin staph) a week and a half ago.  The next day he fell trying to kick a ball and cut his chin open (ten total stitches).  He was a champ getting the stitches.  He didn't make a move until the last three stitches and then just started pointing at the door saying "go".   He's had over a week to heal and it certainly hasn't slowed him down.

The pictures are in no particular order.
