Big Boy Bed

We realized that transitioning Sam to a big bed would be difficult when he is willing and able to climb back into his crib. The three of us took his crib apart last night. He had his plastic drill and pliers out and was a big help.

Kate has been prepping him for the "big boy bed" move for a number of days as well as what to do when he wakes up in the morning. He taught himself how to move a chair to the fridge and open it to get milk and food out. We didn't want him to wake up, go downstairs, and try to make breakfast while we slept.

Sam slept in the twin bed and only woke up once around 2:30am. We told a few stories, he fell back asleep, and slept until 7am. I woke up to "Mommy, Daddy, I'm awake...." Not too bad for a first overnight try.

Merry Christmas

All is well. Sam loves to help shovel the snow.

Yesterday and today Sam is sleeping in his pack-and-play to get him ready for sleeping at Grandma's tomorrow night. We set it up next to his crib last night and he slept great. I put him down for his afternoon nap today in the pack-and-play. After I went downstairs he started crying and complaining that he wanted to sleep in his crib. Ten minutes later he was asleep.

I went up to check on him and he was not in the pack-and-play. He was in his crib. He had climbed out of the pack-and-play and up the side of the crib to lay down for a nap.
