The Last Few Days...

... have been good. The Buchach family Christmas was set for Sunday in Schaumburg. We talked with a pulmonary guru at UW and "mapquested" a hospital with a pediatric cardiologist in Illinois in case Sam offered any surprises on the trip. We were not sure that we would make the adventure after Saturday's excitement. He ate right before we left for Illinois and slept the whole way down. Christmas was great and Sam had quite the gift haul. Then we fed him and he slept the whole way home.

Sam was fitted with a 24 monitor on Monday which was returned Tuesday. This morning we met with Sam's cardiologist and all the news was good. He had another EKG (I believe this makes it seven in one month) and everything still works. He was alright with the blood pressure check, but is still no fan of being weighed. After the visit the monitor results came in, again, all good news. They bumped up his dose yet again. This is a .1 mL (a couple drops) increase three times a day and was planned based on his weight gain. Another medicine was discussed as a possibility if Sam continues to "break through" while taking the current medication. This would require a two to three day hospital stay and has more possible side effects. Let's pray this isn't necessary.
